12 lakh tourists already visited Krishnagiri till June this year: Tamil Nadu tourism minister K Ramachandran

The tourism minister of Tamil Nadu, K Ramachandran, spoke to reporters in Krishnagiri town, stating that the number of tourists visiting various scenic areas in the district is increasing year by year. He mentioned that in 2020, there were 14 lakh tourists, which increased to 16 lakh in 2021 and further rose to 20 lakh in 2022.

The minister expressed optimism that by June this year, around 12 lakh tourists had already visited the district, and this number may exceed 20 lakh by December. Recently, the minister conducted an inspection of the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) hotels in Krishnagiri town and Hosur.

He also mentioned that maintenance work at the Hosur TTDC hotel, costing Rs 63 lakh, is currently underway. Additionally, the renovation of the boathouse and children’s park at the Avathanapatty lake will be carried out soon.

Joining the minister during the inspection were Department Managing Director Sandeep Nanduri, District Collector K M Sarayu, and various other officials.
